Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has congratulated the Paramount Ruler of Ganye Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Alhaji Umaru Adamu Sanda, on his appointment as Chancellor of Taraba State University, Jalingo.
Governor Fintiri conveyed the congratulatory message on Tuesday, August 11, on behalf of the Adamawa State Government, describing the appointment as a recognition that reflects the strong historical and institutional ties between Adamawa and Taraba states.

The governor commended Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for choosing the Ganye monarch for the prestigious university position, describing the appointment as a demonstration of confidence in the traditional ruler’s experience, leadership and contributions to society.
The Gangwari Ganye, who has served as the paramount ruler of Ganye Chiefdom since 2000, is a respected traditional institution in southern Adamawa. His reign has been associated with community development, peacebuilding, cultural preservation and cooperation with government.
Fintiri said the appointment further strengthens the bonds between the two neighbouring states, which share historical, cultural and socio-economic ties.
He wished the monarch success in his new role and expressed confidence that his experience and leadership would contribute positively to the development of Taraba State University and the wider education sector.
The appointment has also attracted congratulatory messages from stakeholders across Adamawa, who described it as a significant recognition for the Ganye traditional institution.
